The Atlas team is always working to make your experience better. You can find the latest features, updates, upgrades, and announcements below.
Atlas now features a new, faster, and more capable search engine! While it may look the same, it offers enhanced speed and deeper search capabilities. The update includes improved typo handling, allowing for more accurate results even with minor errors in search queries. Additionally, Atlas now scans both course descriptions and course titles, returning relevant results even when the exact phrase isn't in the search title.
Atlas is now checking the LSA Course Guide for courses that may satisfy certain requirements or other features. This is currently a beta feature. Requirements may only be met by some sections of a given course. At this time, we encourage users to refer to the LSA Course Guide or speak to their advisor to ensure that the class they're registering for meets the necessary requirements for their program and/or degree.
In addition to an updated Course Browsing page, Atlas now has pages for browsing and filtering Instructors as well as Majors. All pages feature the ability to search in real time, quickly narrowing your results to just the items you are looking for.
You may now filter courses by those offered in the current or known upcoming terms, as well as the previously available open seats and typically offered terms. You can also filter courses by those that may satisfy a particular LSA requirement. As mentioned above, this filter is a beta feature, and students should validate the information with another source.
Find instructors by associated school, and teaching time periods.
Find majors by department or degree level.
Course Profiles may now have links to historical syallbi archives. These are available for courses offered by LSA, the Marsal School of Education, and the Ross School of Business*. If a course is linked to any of those schools/colleges, a link will appear in the header to point you to the archive. These tools are hosted and managed by the individual schools or colleges, and not all courses will have syllabi available.
*The Ross archive does not currently allow for deep-linking to specific courses, so you will have to search in the archive when it appears.
